《法學(xué)經(jīng)典著作選讀》著眼于西方法律思想史上自古希臘至近代對(duì)法律思想發(fā)展具有重大影響的思想家的經(jīng)典作品，以法學(xué)理論的基本問題為主線，選取具有思想性、為后世所推崇且為學(xué)術(shù)界反復(fù)征引的作品之片段，力圖展現(xiàn)這些思想家具有代表性的法律思想。每章篇首附以作者和所選作品的簡(jiǎn)介，對(duì)于一些經(jīng)典著作的譯本，除了本書選取的譯本外，還指出了相應(yīng)的現(xiàn)代譯本信息。所選文本一般具有內(nèi)在的連續(xù)性，自成體系。根據(jù)所選內(nèi)容的邏輯性和結(jié)構(gòu)特征，或直接引用原文標(biāo)題，或由編者擬定若于標(biāo)題，以體現(xiàn)所選文本的層次性和重點(diǎn)，便于讀者掌握其中的思想脈絡(luò)。由于經(jīng)典著作的特點(diǎn)，歷史上各種版本和譯本層出不窮，往往良莠不齊，故經(jīng)典著作的選編，版本至關(guān)重要。本書所選版本皆為歷史上的善本，譯本也都是歷史上久為稱道的優(yōu)秀譯本，版本和譯本都在每章篇尾指明具體出處，便于讀者搜尋原文進(jìn)一步閱讀。本書附錄選編部分中國(guó)古代具有深刻法律思想的名篇作為補(bǔ)充，一方面擴(kuò)展法律思想的領(lǐng)域，體現(xiàn)中國(guó)特色；另一方面也起到對(duì)比參照的作用，可以啟發(fā)讀者立足國(guó)情，關(guān)注現(xiàn)實(shí)，深入思考，形成自己的法律思維。
